I know it has been a while since my last blog post. The reason being I have been preparing for my sons baptism and after party for about a month now. This weekend we finally had this blessed event. We were also graced with a beautiful fall day so I could get alot of great shots outside. The baptism took place in a very special place called The Martha Mary Chapel on the grounds of the famous Longfellows Wayside Inn. Thirty five years ago I was baptized in this amazing picturesque chapel and eight years ago I was married there. It has always been a very special place to me and my family, and this weekend we got to baptize my son there.

When planning all of the details for the day I started out deciding to look for an Irish linen christening outfit that I found online straight from Ireland. The romper had three celtic knots embroidered on the front along with a linen hat and booties. My son looked so precious!! For a simple centerpiece for the mantle I used an old brass lamp base that I purchased from Brimfield and dried some hydrangeas then inserted a birds nest. I was lucky enough to have friends and family that had hydrangea bushes and let me pick as many as I wanted to spread around my house for the big day. I thought that using birds nests and eggs were very symbolic to rebirth and baptism so I went crazy and purchased a ton of nests. Along with the nests and hydreangas I incorporated burlap into the decor. I even tied in the burlap into the cake design.

The cake was an amazing work of art that a friend of mine baked and designed.  Her name is Kristen Livoti and she recently opened a cake shop in Marlboro Mass by the name of Bella Cakes. I believe her website is bellacakes.com. Kristen went above and beyond to create this amazing cake and let me borrow her beautiful silver flower etched cake stand which I fell in love with!!Oh yeah the cake was also soooo yummy!!
