I am dancing around the room exited to tell you all that I will be selling at this years May Brimfield show!! Along with my good friend Amy we will be  on the Shelton field in area B-57. We did the September show two years ago and wanted to do the following May show but destiny had other ideas in mind for the two of us. Amy had her third baby in the following April and I had my first baby boy in the following May. I actually brought him to the July show just to break him into the whole antiquing experience!! Haha!

For the last week I have been shopping like a mad woman trying to find cool and different things to sell. Once again my dining room is starting to look like an antique shop and my husband is getting that look on his face again like “Oh no here we go again!”

The last time I did the Brimfield show I was like  a kid waiting for Christmas. The sheer excitement and nervousness of setting up for the first time was enough to make anyone giddy! The first day of the show we were lucky enough to have Rachel Ashwell come into our booth and buy a few things. She was so pleasant to meet and to Amy and I it was like the icing on the cake to meet her. Like many of you she has been a long time role model for the two of us. She epitomizes Shabby. I know for me it’s not just selling antiques that is fun its also the way I love to creatively display the pieces and set up beautiful vignettes. I truly can’t wait to see what Amy and I come up with this May. I love sharing the space with Amy because our styles mesh together so well. Not only is she so creative and talented but she is just a downright good person. We had such a blast at the show the last time I am sure that this experience will be just as fun if not better!!

Throughout the next couple months I will start posting pictures or stories of my up coming Brimfield adventure. Stay tuned and let the Brimfield Olympic games begin!! If you are setting up at the show or have any funny or interesting experiences from past shows please share them with us all in my comment section. We would love to hear them!!

Happy hunting!

Hope you have a great show!! I am setting up at a show this next weekend here in Texas. Sales are pretty unpredictable these days. I remember when I had a space at a group shop years ago, and one of my favorite interior designers came in and bought some of my things. I was thrilled and so flattered. You must have been beside yourself when Rachel Ashwell came in and bought from you! I wish you well and hope you keep having fun in the antique business - it is a wonderful disease isn’t it?

I was just on Rachel Ashwell’s blog, and I saw your comment. I had no idea that the Natick Mall shop had closed. It was my favorite place to go to for inspiration. It must have been such a thrill to meet her and for her to purchase something from your booth. I can’t wait to see your place at Brimfield’s. I was in search of chandelier inspirations today and I brought out some of my Rachel Ashwell books to browse. I couldn’t help but think that she so inspired our country with her designs.

I am looking foward to reading your posts regarding Brimfield. I have always wondered about the preparation that sellers have to go through to get ready for “the big show!”
Can’t wait to read about your experiences from beginning to end. Hope they will all be positive & exciting.

    All best, Joan

Keri - best of luck! I have always wanted to do this show, but now the years have gotten away from me and I fear I’m too old for the stress! LOL! I also never found that “fun” partner to do it with - heck,I don’t even have a friend to go junking with! I have lots of friends, but none have that “junk gene” :-) - I once dragged one of my friends to Brimfield to see if I could convert her - but I spent $400 and she spent $.25, a WHOLE quarter on a handkerchief!! No fun at all!! I’m going to try to get out there this year after not going for the past few. I fear I cannot walk the fields all day like I used to but I’ll enjoy every minute of it!
    Hope to catch you there!

My best friend and I are coming to shop Brimfield for the first time ever. We’re flying in from San Antonio, Texas and don’t have a clue on where to stay and which shows are the best. Any suggestions or pointers would be so appreciated.
    Smiles,
