Brimfield happy ending
After a long week we are finally home from the show. Even though I am more tired than ever, I come out of the show with a certain satisfaction. Setting up at the Brimfield antique show was a truly amazing experience. One of the greatest things about it had to be the people. We met so many people throughout the week that were so incredibly nice. As I said in my previous post, the very first day of the show Rachel Ashwell of Shabby Chic came to check out the goods. She was very complimentary about our space. Being that it was our first time we had ever set up at the show we were ecstatic and flattered when she walked in.
Along with Rachel’s comments we had numerous amounts of other pleasant words about how beautiful the booth was set up along with the ambiance of candles and music that we added in. I think the quote of the week had to be from this nice woman who said ” If I stay in here any longer I will be standing in a puddle of drool” We laughed for a while after she left!! These folks come from just about everywhere including Japan, Italy, France, and many other parts of the world. Two people especially stand out in my mind. Their names are Mo and Jim. From the moment we pulled up to our space to unpack, they greeted us with smiles and helpful hints about the etiquette of Brimfield. Mo and Jim’s space was directly across from us. They have been doing the show as a part time gig for about six years now. We couldn’t have asked for nicer neighbors. So thanks guys for making us feel so welcome we truly appreciated it!!
Well this is about all I have left in me tonight to post. My eyes are shutting as I am writing this post..jjdjhdsfbhvhjhfjgh…Oops…sorry fell asleep on the keyboard for a sec!! We should cut to the chase anyway and post some pictures of our booth. Amy will be posting some as well on her blog. Please go to her site at www.thistlebeeshome.com and take a look. I must say that Amy was a complete trooper the whole week. She is expecting her third child in April. At times she wasn’t feeling so hot but remained positive and upbeat throughout the week. Amy you rock!! I hope you enjoy the pictures. I am going to have to split the pics into two posts. The first set is of our booth and the second will be of some of the other creative displays found at the show. As always happy hunting!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of putting cacti and succulents in chafing dishes. I am soooo stealing that idea for my home. I find them all the time, dirt cheap, but reckon no one really uses them anymore! Thanks and congratulations! XOX

Back for another look. Your photos are so comforting. Something about that vintage essence, the history and art behind it all. It’s like there could be a story in those pictures!

Fantastic pictures. Beautiful job on setting your space up. Hats off! So…was it worth your time at the end of the day? I’ve been thinking that aside from some nice sales, it would be a great way to find more long term buyers for my store. Thoughts?

Your space looks amazing! I hope you sold a ton of stuff, but somehow I think you did.
GREAT job, the perfect space to shop, warm and inviting and very interesting.

I have friends who showed at Brimfield this year and said that there were loads of foreign buyers. My friends sell industrial salvage and apparently, the Japanese love it!
