Optimisim

October 10th, 2008 by Keri

Although I haven’t resolved  my photo issue I still can continue to write about what is important and true.

Even without an actual photo we all can see a mental picture in our minds of how we want our lives to be.  At certain times we are tested in our life regardless if we want to be or not. I believe this is one of those times in history. With the stock market on the downward spiral each day and the economy sloping people are starting to loose their jobs left and right. Panic is starting to set in. I like many others are wondering will this be the next Great Depression? It’s in times like these that make me reflect on my grandfather telling me about the Great Depression and how he and his family suffered. Somehow they managed to get through it. They made tremendous sacrifices along the way but it the end came out to be stronger. If you think of it, even while the depression was going on life was still happening.  People got married, babies were born, and families united along with friends and helped each other get through the hard times.

I have to remain optimistic for not only me but for my family and friends. It won’t do me any good to sit around and feel sorry for myself. I have to much at stake for it to come to that. Besides the three most important things to me are my family my two cats and my close friends. Without them I have nothing.

So let it be said that I am going to try and throw out a bit of optimism into the universe and hope that it will come back to me my family and friends and countless other Americans who are suffering in these hard times. I truly believe that things will get better, life will move on, lovers will marry, babies will be born, and families and friends will unite and get through it together as humans and as a nation.  Hmmmm I hope I am not starting to sound like a politician. Oh yeah by the way I am running for president!!!

Just caught wind of a Pickfair estate auction taking place Nov. 22-23, 1 pE/12pC. There are some really cool items up for bid like Mary Pickford’s personal autograph book, select pieces of Pickford’s jewelry collection and rare pieces of art from Pickfair.

Just thought I’d pass the info. along for fellow vintage/antique lovers. I guess it will be broadcast live on http://www.auctionnetwork.com/pickfair, along with a tool that lets internet viewers to bid remotely against the floor.
