Ray of light

Today was  one of those great days when everything just seemed to fall into place. Earlier in the day I attempted to have a mid winter basement sale. Needless to say I didn’t make millions, but I manged to sell a few things and have some fun. My husband mocked me endlessly because of the fact that about eight people came to the sale. He is always amazed at how I come up with these crazy ideas, but in the end always helps me move all of the stuff that I want to sell.

After the sale my good friend Amy from thistlebeeshome.com    called me up to ask me if I would be willing to share a space over at the Cidermillrunsterling.com in Sterling. You will have to bear with me my links don’t seem to be working lately….arrrggg, but if you go to my sidebar links they will take you to the sites I have recommended. The space is alot larger and the rent is much less. The concept of the Cider Mill is basically there are small vendors as well as  other gals that have a large room within the mill who are sole proprietors who have mini storefronts with their own store names. Amy has been there for a while now but is having her third child in April so she wants to share a smaller space.

The more I toss the idea around in my head the better it sounds. As you all know I am expecting my first child in May. In the current shop where I am now I am required to work a certain amount of hours a month. For the last year I have enjoyed working in the shop. It was a good experience for me to see the nitty gritty of how an antique shop operates. When my child is born things will change and I will have more time constraints to contend with, so in the end it would be nicer to be somewhere where I am not required to work hours and can go in and out as I please. If I do decide to do it I will let you all know!!

On another positive note I ran into a woman today in Home Goods that I met at Brimfield.  We chatted for a while about antiquing, doing shows, and potentially setting up again at Brimfield in the Fall. Apparently this coming September is Brimfield’s 50th anniversary. Of course I got all exited about setting up again for such a special occasion. She also was very complimentary towards me and told me my small booth in Concord just wasn’t doing me justice. It made me feel so good to see that another creative lady in the business had so much confidence in me.  So thanks Audrey you really made my day!! Audrey actually sets up at another great antique venue called sagefarmantiques.com in NH. I have yet to go there but it looks like a wonderful place to set up and sell your wares. Apparently different vendors set up at the beginning of each month and offer all sorts of antique goodies. Check it out if you get the chance.

About a week ago I was feeling discouraged about what was to come in my future endeavors with the antiques business. After all I just love it so much, and truly have a passion for it.  I must say though today that ray of light came shining through, lifted me back up and gave me hope that things will work out for the best.

As always happy hunting and enjoy the weekend!!

You Don’t have to be discourage maybe its a part of running a business. Just don’t give up maybe after that your Antique Business will rise and popular.

There’s nothing in this world that become successful without any sacrifices.
