New shop items

March 1st, 2009 by Keri

Over the past few years I have had an obsession with grain sacks. While I prefer the french ones, they are very pricey and therefore makes rehab projects evenĀ  more expensive. Another alternative to the french sacks is finding coffee sacks that have a similar look but are way less in cost. I have seen many creative uses for them including pillow covers, pocketbooks and reupholstering chairs with. I managed to find a cool chair that needed a seat cover. The grain sack fabric matched perfectly!! I also made two bulletin tack boards out of them. If I could sew I would make pillows as well, but much to my dismay I haven’t quite mastered that talent yet.

Along with the blue and beige theme I am adding some small transfer ware and silver plate sugar and creamer set to the shop as well. So come on in and check out a few of the new goods, and don’t forget to come to our Open House on March 15, from 12-5!!

I am planning on doing this same thing, just wondering would the burlap feel itchy to sit on? Anyway, it looks fabulous, great idea!!
