Happy St. Patrick’s Day
Nine years ago today I went to Ireland for the first time. The trip was instigated on behalf of my brother who was going to be participating in the St. Patty’s Day parade in Dublin. At the time my boyfriend now husband decided we should make the event into a week and half trip around Ireland. Being that this was my first time ever to Europe I was so exited. I had wanted to go there ever since I was a child, it was a life long dream of mine. We started out the trip in Dublin and hung out with my brother for a few days with his musical group for the holiday. Nothing will ever top being in Dublin for St. Patty’s Day. Needless to say we pub crawled from morning until the wee hours of the night. It was a time I will never forget.
The trip only continued to get better. The day after St. Patty’s Day my boyfriend proposed marriage to me. I was amazed that he manged to get the ring all the way from the States with no issues while all along remaining completely cool and collected. All in all we made our way into the countryside to areas like Cork, Kinsale, Waterford, The Ring of Kerry, and The Cliffs of Moher.
Ironically while I started writing this post my father called me up to tell me that while he was watching the Today Show this morning he happened to see a shot of my brother Greg playing the flute in Ireland in some pub!! What’s funny is the fact that the footage was from nine years ago!! Hopefully we can find it on You Tube!! By the way my brother has a great site called baconworks.com. He has been a musician for many years. He is in my link section, so go check him out!! He is truly talented.
I hope you enjoy the pics from my trip!! If you ever get the chance to go to Ireland take it, it’s a truly magical place to see. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

Loved your post on Ireland. I also saw snippets of the Today Show from Ireland and felt a longing to go there. Being of Irish heritage, I would love to explore the countryside that my ancestors came from.
Loved seeing the images from your shop in the earlier posts. Best of luck in the new location.

I was raised in Ireland (Cork) from when I was 10 till I was 18.
Have to agree it is one of the most beautiful places in the world! Thanks for the memories and short trip back home.
I haven’t been back since 1989 even though I have plenty of cousin’s still there who keep insisiting on a visit! I’ll have to make some plans to get there soon.
