Nursery love
After many months of decorating and painting, the nursery is finally done. The only accessory left is the little baby boy that will grace this room!!
I tried to give the room a vintage yet bright look by mixing some antiques along with a safari theme. I found these 1800’s safari mother and son lithographs at a local antique show a few months ago and then found inexpensive frames at Walmart for a mere $13 each. I had to paint them because they were originally black. I felt that they matched perfectly with the safari sheet and bumper set that I got at PB Kids.
The antique dresser used to be mine as a kid. I have always loved the lines of the scrolly mirror and knew that it would make a perfect changing table and storage unit for clothes.
After all of the painstaking hours of trying to figure out the armoire dilemma I wound up using the one I originally had in the dining room. This piece also has some sentimental value because it actually came out of my great grandparents paint shop in Brooklyn NY.
I can’t wait to rock the baby in my new Wendy Bellisimo rocker that my mom got me from Babies R Us. Draped on the back of the chair is my mothers vintage chenille baby blanket, I believe she used it for me and my brother as well when we were kids.
Along with the blanket she gave me her bassinet that has also been used by every baby in the family after she was born up until now.
One of the new additions is this white baby sweater that my grandmothers cousin made me. Since my grandmother passed away a few years ago she wanted to pass on a tradition that my grandmother also enjoyed which was knitting. I absolutely love it and will treasure it always!!
This vintage Humpty Dumpty light was mine as kid as well. It fit in perfectly with my vintage alabaster birds nests and the new vintage looking birds nest print that I found at Home Goods. The ironic thing is that I bought this baby blue mattlesse quilt about five years ago when we were in Paris. Up until this point I didn’t have a room to put it in….who would have guessed that I would be using it in my sons nursery. I think when he gets a little older we will need to put it away. I can only imagine the little boy handprints that will be smeared all over it!!
I hope you enjoyed the tour of the nursery. I also posted a few pictures of another new shop addition. I will be bringing in this petite shabby ladies desk tomorrow to the shop. Isn’t it the cutest desk? I repainted it to give it a fresh look!! Enjoy!!

Beautiful. Your nursery brings back so many sweet memories. I used a very similar bassinet in my daughter’s room and it was also passed down through my family. Enjoy every single second of this time in our life!
