Much to my delight I found another alabaster compote with birds yesterday. It is by far the prettiest one I have seen to date. This one has beautiful cherubs carved into the base, Amazing! It will be for sale with a few other additions including some mercury glass ornaments, shabby white accent table, neat old Paris hat box, silver plate tea pot,  two vintage 50s’ angel lights, and great old aqua colored tin box.

You can  find all of these items at Thoreauly Antiques in Concord Ma at 25 Walden St in Antique Therapy’s booth. Have a great weekend!

The colors are so vivid and pretty. I filled up the box with some earthy coffee sacks which didn’t you know they are all the rage right now!! I also came across this great Paris map pamphlet. All of the items are for sale in Antique Therapy’s space in Thoreauly Antiques in Concord Ma, located at 25 Walden St.

Birds and Baptism

October 12th, 2009 by Keri

 baptism-4.jpg

I know it has been a while since my last blog post. The reason being I have been preparing for my sons baptism and after party for about a month now. This weekend we finally had this blessed event. We were also graced with a beautiful fall day so I could get alot of great shots outside. The baptism took place in a very special place called The Martha Mary Chapel on the grounds of the famous Longfellows Wayside Inn. Thirty five years ago I was baptized in this amazing picturesque chapel and eight years ago I was married there. It has always been a very special place to me and my family, and this weekend we got to baptize my son there.

When planning all of the details for the day I started out deciding to look for an Irish linen christening outfit that I found online straight from Ireland. The romper had three celtic knots embroidered on the front along with a linen hat and booties. My son looked so precious!! For a simple centerpiece for the mantle I used an old brass lamp base that I purchased from Brimfield and dried some hydrangeas then inserted a birds nest. I was lucky enough to have friends and family that had hydrangea bushes and let me pick as many as I wanted to spread around my house for the big day. I thought that using birds nests and eggs were very symbolic to rebirth and baptism so I went crazy and purchased a ton of nests. Along with the nests and hydreangas I incorporated burlap into the decor. I even tied in the burlap into the cake design.

The cake was an amazing work of art that a friend of mine baked and designed.  Her name is Kristen Livoti and she recently opened a cake shop in Marlboro Mass by the name of Bella Cakes. I believe her website is bellacakes.com. Kristen went above and beyond to create this amazing cake and let me borrow her beautiful silver flower etched cake stand which I fell in love with!!Oh yeah the cake was also soooo yummy!!

French artwork

August 29th, 2009 by Keri

 french-art-work.jpg

Yesterday I started to move into my new space in Concord at Thoreauly Antiques. I am so exited to be back in Concord. As I left the shop for the day I took a walk over to my other favorite shop Nesting On Main up the street. While I was looking around the shop I met a young woman named Karen Harvey. We soon discovered that we both had blogs and in fact I had actually been on her blog sometime ago.

Karen is an amazing artist who inspires me each time I go on her site with her whimsical paintings and digital artwork. I told her that I had just set up shop in Thoreauly and she went there soon after and purchased one of my Parisian black and white architectural lithographs. Out of the print she created two amazing digital designs that I have included here for you all to see.

Karen’s blog is a treat to stop by and see. You can visit her here at karenharveycox.blogspot.com or in my links bar on the side. Thanks Karen for continuing to inspire me and countless others with your beautiful artwork. Enjoy her designs and have a fantastic weekend. Stay tuned for pictures of my new completed space in Concord!!
